HL Deb 12 November 1974 vol 354 c772WA
LORD BARNBY

asked Her Majesty's Government:

What is the total of aid and subvention in all forms given to Zambia since Independence.

BARONESS LLEWELYN-DAVIES OF HASTOE

The total of aid and subventions committed to Zambia since independence in October, 1964, is about £80.4 million. About £65.3 million of this has been spent. Almost all the balance is cover for guarantee payments due to the World Bank in the years 1989 in respect of the Kariba North Scheme.

These figures do not include Commonwealth Development Corporation investment in Zambia.

House adjourned at twelve minutes past seven o'clock.
