HC Deb 12 November 1974 vol 881 c89W
Mr. Wigley

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what steps have been taken in response to the blockade of ports through which Irish beef is imported into Great Britain.

Mr. Bishop

It would be wrong to impose restrictions on our traditional and legitimate trade with the Republic in response to recent demonstrations at ports. We are, however, giving urgent consideration to the representations which have been made in this House and elsewhere on the need for further measures to support the beef sector.
