HC Deb 12 November 1974 vol 881 c55W
32. Mr. Carter-Jones

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if she will reconsider the pocket money allowance for disabled people in residential care in relation to the varying costs of petrol-oil mixture costs for three-wheeled vehicles; and if she will make a statement.

Mr. Alfred Morris

The benefit available for personal requirements after the payment of a contribution towards the cost of local authority accommodation is increased when benefit rates generally are increased. Benefit increases in turn take account of increases in general living costs, and were last increased in July of this year.
