HC Deb 11 November 1974 vol 881 cc16-7W
Mr. Moonman

asked the Secretary of State for Employment what representation has been made by MK Electric of Basildon to his Department to help in obtaining alternative employment for the 600 employees to be made redundant; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. John Fraser

No such representations have been received by my Department. I am informed by the Manpower Services Commission, however, that following notification of redundancies by the firm on 4th November, "Job Teams" from the Employment Service Agency's local offices are already interviewing at the firm's premises and making every effort to secure alternative employment for those who are likely to be affected.
