Mr. Clemitson

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science, in making estimates of the number of teachers required in the next decade, what value has been placed on each of the following factors: staff wastage, school populations for each of the years concerned, the projected number of nursery places and the number of school places provided by private education, respectively.

All these factors are taken into account, as are others such as re-entry to teaching and school population projectionst.
