HC Deb 08 November 1974 vol 880 c254W
Mr. Rossi

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will seek to ascertain whether enough rent officers have been recruited to deal with the additional volume of work created by the Rent Act 1974; and the extent of any shortage both in absolute numbers and in percentage terms.

Mr. Freeson

I expect that increases in the flow of work to the rent officer service arising from the Rent Act 1974 will be offset by a loss of work resulting from impending rent legislation. There should be no shortage of rent officers.
