§ Mr. William RossEducation authority returns show that 536 primary pupils in Glasgow and Ayrshire and 39,624 secondary pupils in Glasgow, Dumfriesshire, Dunbartonshire, Lanarkshire and Renfrewshire were on part-time education on 7th October, the latest date for which information is available. Glasgow and Lanarkshire were the most seriously affected areas. In some cases the part-time education was not attributable to shortage of staff.
