HC Deb 07 November 1974 vol 880 cc207-8W
Mr. George Rodgers

asked the Minister for the Civil Service if he will reconsider the position of civil servants whose pension entitlement is restricted by the ruling that unestablished service before 14th July 1949 is only reckoned as half when assessing the qualifying period.

Mr. Sims

asked the Minister for the Civil Service what recent representations he has received on the question of temporary service in the Civil Service prior to 1949 being counted in full for pension purposes; and if he is in a position to make a statement on this matter.

Mr. Golding

asked the Minister for the Civil Service what representations he has received asking for all service to count for pension purposes; and whether he will make a statement.

Mr. Charles R. Morris

I have received some 30 letters from hon. Members. I have studied this question but have found no grounds to justify a change in the present position.
