§ Mr. StrangThe oil subsidy was made available until 31st December 1974 to cushion growers against the sharp and unexpected increase in oil costs which occurred when it was too late for them to make major changes in their production plans for the 1974 season. In present circumstances, we have no proposals for its continuance.
