HC Deb 07 November 1974 vol 880 c210W
Sir George Young

asked the Secretary of State for Employment further to the assurances which he gave holidaymakers on 26th June, what steps he has taken to see that those who accepted these assurances are not out of pocket.

Mr. Shore

I have been asked to reply.

No assurances were given by me to holidaymakers on or around this date. As already announced, the Government propose to introduce legislation to provide additional protection for people booking overseas holidays and travel who suffer loss as a result of the failure of travel organisers.
