HC Deb 07 November 1974 vol 880 c191W
40. Mr. Hardy

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will reconsider the existing situation in which French eggs may be imported into the United Kingdom whilst France is not prepared to allow British eggs to be exported there.

Mr. Bishop

The French import controls can be justified under current EEC rules on feed additives. We are seeking changes to these rules. There are no grounds for our restricting imports of French eggs.
