§ Mr. Alexander W. LyonThe work of many official bodies involves them in reviewing laws and penalties. The Law Commission and the Criminal Law Revision Committee are the principal bodies responsible for reviewing the criminal law in England and Wales. The functions of the Law Commission are set out in Section 3 of the Law Commissions Act 1965. The Criminal Law Revision Committee was set up
to be a standing committee to examine such aspects of the criminal law of England and Wales as the Home Secretary may from time to time refer to the committee, to consider whether the law requires revision and to make recommendations".
