§ Q17. Mr. William Hamiltonasked the Prime Minister what plans he has to meet the TUC and CBI representatives to discuss the working of the social contract.
§ The Prime MinisterI had separate meetings with the TUC and CBI on 15th October and Ministers in individual Departments will have discussions on those aspects of the social contract with which they are concerned. I have no immediate plans for any further meetings but shall be ready to meet either, or both together, if such a meeting were considered helpful.
§ Q18. Mr. Richard Wainwrightasked the Prime Minister if he will make a statement setting out the nature and contents of the social contract.
§ Q20. Mr. David Priceasked the Prime Minister if he will publish details of the social contract referred to in the Queen's Speech as being an essential element in the Government's strategy.
