§ Mr. Hattonasked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will seek to amend the formula applicable to the determination of rateable values in order to remedy the situation whereby flats tend to be rated more highly than private houses because the notional rent is normally considered to be higher.
§ Mr. OakesMy right hon. Friend has at present no plans to do so. Any question of substantial changes to the rating system must await the report of the Committee of Inquiry into Local Government Finance.
