asked the Prime Minister which Minister is to have responsibility for the protection of British oil installations in the Celtic seas and ashore.

Since more than one Department may be involved according to the nature of the threat or hazard, I have asked the Lord Privy Seal to co-ordinate the measures necessary for the protection of our offshore and other maritime interests.
