HC Deb 05 November 1974 vol 880 cc109-10W
Mr. Sillars

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what requests he has received from Ayr County Council for approval to demolish 49 unfit flat-roofed houses; and what replies he has sent.

Mr. William Ross

After correspondence and discussion with my Department in 1973, Ayr County Council decided to study the feasibility of repairing and improving these war emergency houses. It has now informed my Department, in a letter dated 30th October, that it wishes to demolish the houses. The decision lies in the discretion of the council, and my reply will be to that effect.
