HC Deb 05 November 1974 vol 880 cc108-9W
Mrs. Winifred Ewing

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will ascertain and publish a list of the EEC grants that have been made to fishing vessels, with full details in each case of amount of grant, the proportion of grant to price, the names of persons to whom grants were made, the place where the boats were registered; and, in each case, what is the date of first application for grant and the date on which the contract to build each boat was entered into and the date on which construction of each boat commenced.

Mr. William Ross

Under the 1973 programme of grants for individual capital projects under Regulation (EEC) No. 17/64, the Commission of the European Community approved eight Scottish applications relating to the construction of 10 fishing vessels. The owners of eight fishing vessels to be based in Peterhead are due to receive grants totalling £305,701, while the owners of vessels to be based at Whalsay and Fraserburgh are to receive grants of £25,956 and £62,521 respectively. It would not be right to disclose particulars of individual applications.
