§ Q13. Mr. Skinnerasked the Prime Minister if he will make a statement on his latest talks with the leaders of the CBI and TUC.
§ The Prime MinisterI had separate meetings with the TUC and the CBI on 15th October at which I listened to their respective views on the economic situation and the priorities for action to meet immediate problems. Both meetings were very constructive and will form the basis 115W for the detailed discussions which Departmental Ministers will have with both sides of industry on those aspects of the social contract with which they are concerned.
