§ 28. Miss Maynardasked the Secretary of State for Employment if he will introduce legislation to bring agricultural 93W workers within the scope of the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act.
§ Mr. Harold WalkerAgricultural workers are already within the scope of the Act, although provisions relating exclusively to agricultural matters are the responsibility of the Agriculture Ministers. However, as foreshadowed by the Consultative Document, the Employment Protection Bill will amend the Act to give the Health and Safety Commission responsibilities for health and safety matters relating exclusively to agriculture. As already announced, the Bill will be introducted during the present Session of Parliament.
