§ Mr. Stephen Rossasked the Secretary of State for the Environment (1) if he will give financial and professional assistance to local authorities embarking on the construction of low-cost, small housing units and chalets for subsequent sale or letting;
(2) if he will instruct local authorities to establish mobile home sites with the attendant facilities to alleviate the present housing situation.
§ Mr. FreesonAs my right hon. Friend announced in his speech at the annual conference of the National Housing and Town Planning Council on 30th October he has asked the Department to conduct an urgent review of possible ways of getting more houses built more quickly, and more cheaply. The review will include consideration of the kinds of accommodation to which the hon. Member refers.
