HC Deb 04 November 1974 vol 880 c52W
Mr. Newens

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if the question of the adoption of sewers and a watercourse by the appropriate local authority at the Castle Estate, Sheering, has yet been resolved; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Denis Howell

I understand that negotiations have been taking place between the solicitors acting for the Epping Forest District Council and those acting for the estate developers and that it is hoped that agreement can be reached. Meanwhile, however, arrangements have been put in hand by the Department for the holding of a public local inquiry and at the request of the council's solicitors the 29th April has been reserved in case an inquiry is needed.
