asked the Secretary of State for Trade whether he is satisfied with the arrangements made to maintain warning lights on oil rigs situated in coastal waters; and on whom responsibility lies to ensure that all such rigs are adequately lighted to warn approaching vessels of their presence.

Yes. To safeguard shipping we require adequate marking and lighting of oil rigs in our coastal waters under Part II of the Coast Protection Act 1949 as extended by the Continental Shelf Act 1964.
