§ Mr. Monroasked the Secretary of State for Scotland when the health boards will have implemented revised pay scales for nurses retrospective to 1st April 1974; what further discussions he is having; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. William RossI have asked health boards to make every effort to ensure that the revised pay scales are fully implemented during May. Should boards in some cases find it impracticable to complete calculation of arrears of pay due in respect of April, they have been asked to ensure that every nurse receives an advance on account sufficient to put her substantially in the same position as if the award had been implemented.
