HC Deb 23 May 1974 vol 874 c229W
47. Mr. Goodhart

asked the Minister for the Civil Service what estimate he can make of the cost of ensuring that no public service pensioner receives less than 90 per cent. of the sum that he would receive if parity were introduced.

Mr. Robert Sheldon

It is estimated that the immediate annual cost of increasing the pensions of existing public service pensioners to the level of 90 per cent. of those currently awarded for the same grade and service would be £65 million.
