Mr. Michael Latham

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment whether he will publish the names and qualifications of the members of the Severn-Trent Regional Water Authority, together with details of their salaries or fees payable from public funds.

Mr. Denis Howell

The Chairman is Sir William Dugdale, Bt, MC, JP, DL, solicitor, formerly member of Warwickshire County Council and Chairman of the Trent River Authority.

The chairman receives a salary of £7,500 a year and Mr. Hart, chairman of the regional land drainage committee, £1,000 a year. Other members are unpaid but are entitled to allowances for travel and for attending water authority meetings etc.
