HC Deb 21 May 1974 vol 874 cc70-1W
24. Mr. Ian Gilmour

asked the Secretary of State for Defence whether the Government intend to improve the nuclear deterrent; whether by taking, or not taking, any decisions they have now closed any options of doing so; and whether he will make a statement.

Mr. Mason

All I can say about the Polaris force and future requirements for its improvement is that in common with all our defence forces, every aspect is being closely scrutinised in the current Defence Review. All options remain open.
