HC Deb 21 May 1974 vol 874 c120W
Mr. Pardoe

asked the Secretary of State for Energy what proportion of Great Britain's energy requirements in each of the next 10 years his Department estimates will be supplied by oil, gas, coal and nuclear sources, respectively.

Mr. Varley

My Department is constantly assessing future developments in the demand for and supply of energy in its various forms. However, very great uncertainties surround many aspects of the energy field at present and forecasts could be very misleading. I do not therefore consider that detailed forecasts of the kind the hon. Member requests would be meaningful.
