asked the Prime Minister who are the trustees of the Chevening estate.

The Prime Minister

Under the terms of the Chevening Estate Act 1959, the administrative trustees are:

Lord Privy Seal (ex officio)Lord Shepherd.

Two persons appointed by the Prime Minister: Sir John Hewitt and Mr. Hugo Read.

A person appointed by the Secretary of State for the Environment: Mr. Robin Fedden.

Director for the time being of the Victoria and Albert Museum: Dr. Roy Strong.

Additional Trustees: Lord Shackleton and Lord Hirshfield.
