Mr. Kenneth Clarke

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services how many general medical practitioners for each 100,000 population are practising in the area of the Nottinghamshire Area Health Authority (Teaching); and how this compares with the national average.

There are currently 37.97 general medical practitioners per 100,000 populations in the area of Nottinghamshire AHA(T). In October 1973, the latest date for which information is available, the average figure for England was 43.09.

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what is the estimated percentage of the total population aged between 21 and 25 years who are receiving or have received treatment for venereal disease; and how these figures compare with those for other countries.

Figures are not available in the precise form requested. In 1973, 19,679 cases of gonorrhoea and 329 cases
