§ Mr. Ashtonasked the Secretary of State for the Environment (1) why the public participation exercise regarding the alternative routes of the Worksop inner relief road has been deferred from January 1974 to December 1974;
(2) whether he will arrange to meet a deputation from the Bassetlaw District Council to discuss the proposed Worksop bypass and inner relief road, and the reasons for the delay and consequent plan-night blight on several properties since March 1965.
§ Mr. CarmichaelThere has been no deferment of public participation which is being arranged for later this year. This will give all concerned an opportunity to state their views and therefore there would appear to be no great benefit in my receiving a deputation now.
