asked the Secretary of State for the Environment how many communications he has received regarding the water rate to be levied by the North West Regional Water Authority.

My Department has received some 30 letters about charges by the North West Water Authority.

Mr. Hannam

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if, in view of the level of increases in water and sewerage charges which in many cases comprise up to half the total rates bill, he will immediately amend the rate rebates system to include such water and sewerage charges.
