§ Mr. PrenticeThe total average recurrent cost to public funds of a local education authority school place in the 1972–73 financial year was £162 per pupil at 1973 survey prices. The total average capital cost of providing a new place for a pupil at such a school was £917.5 at 1973 survey prices.
The corresponding university figures are £1,302 and £4,059 respectively.
