HC Deb 03 May 1974 vol 872 c236W
15. Mr. Moate

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what is his policy with regard to the existing import duties on lamb and mutton from New Zealand.

Mr. Buchan

The existing import duties represent the first step towards the 20 per cent. common customs tariff, as provided for under the Treaty of Accession. The Government have made clear that, in the renegotiation of the terms of entry, we shall be considering the whole question of access for Commonwealth products.
