Mr. Ralph Howell

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will compare the ratio of added value, or net output, to resources of manpower and capital, for the latest year for which figures are available, and for each of the industries listed in Table 17 of the 1973 Blue Book on National and Local Expenditure.

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what is the annual value of output in Scotland; and how much of this is attributable to nationalised industries.

The latest estimates of gross domestic product at factor cost and at current prices for Scotland are given below. It is not possible to say what part of the total is attributable to nationalised industries.

The approximate percentages of Scotland's gross domestic product at factor cost represented by gross domestic fixed capital formation in Scotland by manufacturing and nationalised industries are given for the years available in the table below:
