asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many Commonwealth citizens arrived in and left the United Kingdom between 1st July 1962 and 31st December 1973.

In the period from 1st July 1962 to 31st December 1973, 6,425,662 Commonwealth citizens subject to immigration control were admitted to the United Kingdom and 6,207,083 embarked. These figures relate to journeys and not to individuals.
