asked the Secretary of State for the Environment on what date he anticipates confirming the order extending the 30 mph zone in Todmorden Road, Bacup, Lancashire.

I am not convinced that extension of the existing 30 mph limit is the right course. I understand that the county council is considering the matter further in the light of advice by the Department's regional controller (roads and transportation).
