asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what was the total amount of revenue taken from churches in value added tax in the last financial year; and if he will consider excluding churches from this tax in the current financial year.

Churches do not normally make supplies chargeable with VAT. No official estimate has been made of the element of VAT in the costs of the goods and services which they purchase.
