HC Deb 01 May 1974 vol 872 c464W
34. Mr. Tyler

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will recast the housing cost yardsticks for public sector housing to encourage design on the principles of long life/loose fit/low energy.

Mr. Freeson

I assume that the hon. Member has in mind the studies being carried out by the Royal Institute of British Architects of work related to these principles. My Department is in touch with the studies, many of which go beyond the housing field, and we shall, of course, be looking in particular at the possible implications for public sector housing as and when reports are produced.
