§ Mr. Gwynoro Jonesasked the Secretary of State for Wales if he will make a statement on the present situation relating to the Carmarthen, St. Clears, Whitland, Llandeilo and Llandovery bypass schemes.
§ Mr. John MorrisI am currently considering an alternative route suggested by objectors to the published proposals for the Carmarthen southern bypass which, if adopted, would have repercussions for planned trunk road improvements over a wide area. I shall then resume preparation of the bypass proposals for Carmarthen and Llandeilo. Llandovery bypass is the subject of a feasibility study with a view to the possible inclusion of a suitable scheme in my trunk road preparation pool. Preparatory work is proceeding satisfactorily on the St. Clears and Whitland bypass schemes.
