HC Deb 29 March 1974 vol 871 cc230-1W
Mr. Norman Lamont

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services (1) whether the merged pension schemes under the reorganisation of the National Health Service are to be funded and self-invested;

(2) from what date under the National Health Service reorganisation the merging of pension funds of different hospitals will become operative.

Mrs. Castle

The National Health Service Superannuation Scheme for England and Wales is centrally administered in accordance with the National Health Service (Superannuation) Regulations 1961 to 1974 and no question of merging funds therefore arises. The scheme is notionally funded.
