§ Mr. George Cunninghamasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many dwellings are currently owned by the Metropolitan Police in the Metropolitan Police area; and how many were unoccupied at the latest convenient date.
§ Dr. Summerskill4,437, of which 596 were unoccupied on 11th March. Of these, 242 are being disposed of as surplus and 354 will be reoccupied by police officers and their families. The figure 354 includes 75 awaiting occupation by officers who have accepted them, 135 169W being made ready for occupation for officers who have also accepted, and 111 on offer, leaving only 33 unallocated.
