HC Deb 27 March 1974 vol 871 cc131-2W
51. Mr. Kenneth Clarke

asked the Secretary of State for Employment what proportion of the European Community's Social Fund was paid out to the United Kingdom in the year 1973; and how this compared with the proportions of the fund paid out to the other member countries.

Mr. John Fraser

The Community allocated £24 million to the United Kingdom—towards the cost for 1973 of publicly funded training and resettlement schemes. This sum represents 20 per cent. of the total budget for 1973 of the fund. The Commission does not publish comparative figures of the drawings from the fund by member States.
