§ Mr. Ronald Atkinsasked the Secretary of State for Energy if he will examine the economic feasibility of the Severn Barrage 5W Scheme in the light of higher energy prices and dwindling supplies of energy and increasing demand.
§ Mr. StrangOfficials have recently reassessed the economic feasibility of the Severn Barrage Scheme and have concluded that it could not be competitive with alternative sources of power. The position is being kept under review.
