asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will consider the relief from taxation of all retirement pensions payable within the National Insurance Scheme.

I have noted my hon. Friend's suggestion but I do not think it would be justifiable to relieve from tax all national insurance retirement pensions, regardless of the size of the pensioner's income.
