HC Deb 21 March 1974 vol 870 cc164-5W
Mr. Sillars

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will ask each area health board to look with urgency upon the need to develop policies which will enable a prescription delivery service to operate for the benefit of village communities, a large number of which cannot support normal chemist shop services.

Mr. William Ross

The existing arrangements whereby collection and delivery services may be introduced following consultation between executive councils and the professional bodies concerned will continue after health boards take over responsibility from executive councils. I am not aware of any general need to draw this to the attention of health boards.
