The United Kingdom index was recently rebased on 1970: the index for Wales, currently based on 1968 has been mechanically adjusted to a 1970 basis. The adjusted index shows a rise of 11.9 points for Wales between 1970 and the third quarter of 1973* as compared with a rise of 10.9 points nationally. *The latest figures available proposal or whether such discussions would be likely to result in a scheme which the United Kingdom would find acceptable.
