HC Deb 21 March 1974 vol 870 c140W
Mr. Onslow

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what instructions have been given to the United Kingdom representatives on the International Cocoa Council in relation to proposals to increase cocoa prices.

Mr. Moyle

The representatives have been instructed to consider in the light of all relevant factors the request by producer members of the International Cocoa Council for an increase in the price range in the International Cocoa Agreement. The current high price of cocoa is appreciably above the present range, and the United Kingdom delegation will not agree to an increase in the range which leads to still higher prices for cocoa.
