HC Deb 21 March 1974 vol 870 cc162-3W
Mr. Bryant Godman Irvine

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland (1) what is the number of pensions payable to former Irish civil servants under Schedule 8 to the Government of Ireland Act 1920;

(2) what is the number of pensions payable to or in respect of existing Irish officers within the meaning of the Government of Ireland Act 1920 under the Superannuation Acts 1834 to 1965.

Mr. Robert Sheldon

I have been asked to reply.

There were 185 pensions in payment at 30th September 1973 to or in respect of existing Irish officers within the meaning of the Government of Ireland Act 1920. The number, if any, of these pensions payable under the provisions of Schedule 8 to the Act is not known.
