asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will now set up an inquiry into teachers' conditions in Scotland.

The main teacher organisations are currently pursuing a claim for improved conditions of service in the Scottish Teachers Service Conditions Committee.

Mr. Sproat

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will now set up a full-scale inquiry into the working conditions of teachers and pupils in local authority schools in Scotland.
