§ 43. Mr. Madelasked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will alter the criteria for determining the rate support grant to ease the position of the domestic ratepayer in local authority areas, such as Bedfordshire, which face a large expansion in school population.
§ Mr. OakesMy right hon. Friend has already announced his rate support grant decision for 1974–75, subject to parliamentary approval of the rate support grant order. He has, however, said that he will undertake a thorough review at the earliest possible time of the grant distribution system in time for the 1975–76 settlement.
